hit snow that made it a bit slow-going. After 1200 miles we got to Fruita and Mommy! And Papa Dick and Papa Tom. It's SOOO nice to be home with our family and friends under the blue, sunny Colorado sky!
Lexie is thrilled to have Torie home, and Torie's thrilled to be there! It's great to see them back together. Torie is still running everywhere, and jabbering non-stop. Yesterday was Dad's birthday, and Torie put the candles in the cake, and then wanted "fire on the candles." We sang Happy Birthday and blew out candles. 4 times! Then she decided she was going to cut her piece - after she'd already taken a few tastes. Just watching her is the greatest gift Papa Dick ever got. For the rest of us, too! We tend to all sit around and watch. When we think back to a year ago, and she was so sick, to have her getting healthy and being happy is the best thing ever.
Today we had labs at St. Mary's, and all is looking good. Next week we'll try to wean Prednisone (the steroid) down to 15mg every other day. Keep your fingers crossed!
We miss our friends at RMH, especially our Hurler family. Today Zachary is T+17, and he's still in PICU on a ventilator. Derek is T+10, and he's hanging tough. Ethan is still waiting, and will have a CT next week to see if they can finally get started with transplant. We know that your prayers and happy thoughts make a huge difference, so please send them to our boys. Grow cells, grow! And thanks for sticking with us as we get closer and closer to Vic-Torie!
We love to see you with your Mommy! It is so wonderful that you got to go swimming and had safe travel. We continue to pray for you sweet girl and all our other Hurler family at the RMH. Tell Papa Dick "Happy Belated Birthday" from the other triplets ( and family). Keep up the good work.

ReplyDeleteI am sooo thankful that our (former) MN. family is home. For me, it feel like a huge void has been filled!
ReplyDeleteTorie and I got to play for a while after Papa Dick's birthday party but we still haven't had a tea party since she got home. Soon! Wow, what a sweet little spirit our family has been blessed with.
Torie, I am sending lots of happy thoughts to your little friends in Minnesota and lots of happy thoughts that you continue to do good!
Papa Tom
I'm so happy you are all home (sweet home). I'm very disappointed that I didn't get to see you in Ft. Collins but grateful that it was MY "check engine" light that came on and not yours!
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures of you with your Mommy and Papa Dick (happy belated birthday!). It sounds like Papa Tom is very anxious for a tea party.
If the weather cooperates I would like to make it over the hill for your birthday.
Love & Hugs,
Aunt Lettie
By the way, that birthday cake looks sooooooooooo good!!! :)
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see you home with the rest of your family! We think of you often. Sometimes I see Ethan playing with the little strollers in the house and I remember him and you running around together with them. Stay well!
