T-6 & Cytoxan's Done!

Today was Torie's last dose of Cytoxan and she's doing great. Tomorrow she starts Busulfan, another chemo drug that kills off cells so she's ready for new cells to take over when she gets them. Busulfan can cause seizures, so she has started taking Keppra to prevent them. Unfortunately the Keppra gags her, and she barfed it tonight and had to start over. A lot of you know how Torie is with vitals, line access, labs, dressing changes, etc...they don't bother her. But liquid meds are a whole different story. She hates them. And she's gonna have to take them for the next 9 months or so. Bummer. But she'll get there. She doesn't have much of an appetite, but she's still loving her "wobby milk". I guess it's a good thing Papa-Great got her hooked on it! She's been up playing most of the day, and she gets lots of visitors...Speech Therapy, Child Life, and Physical Therapy to name a few. It's so hard to not be whiny about all this. But if Torie can do it, I guess I can too.

Today was 4 weeks ago that we left Grand Junction. We miss everyone so much and we think about you all the time. We're grateful for your comments on here, and for your prayers and well-wishes!
