T+133 Good-Bye Minnesota!

It's official! We are on our way home! This picture is right at the Minnesota state line. I know I said "when I see it in the rearview mirror", but that didn't seem the safest photo op. We've also had the pleasure of seeing the state line of Iowa flash by. We are in Lincoln, Nebraska - Go Huskers! - tonight. Torie did great today. She had a little meltdown when she wanted to "Go back Ronald McDonald House. Now! Not go to Colorado!" and no one would turn around. But by the time we got to the hotel, she told me "Ronald McDonald House all done. Minnesota all done." I'm so glad that she felt so safe at RMH. It really was a sanctuary to her. No poking, no prodding, no tests. Just good friends, and more importantly, good food! And speaking of the House, Happy 4th Birthday, Jerry! We're sorry we missed the party. We were a little shocked to hear about the weather...we thought we had the Torie-nado in the car with us! Thanks for following our road trip...Vic-Torie!

  1. What can we say -- except WHOO-HOO!
We're so happy for this day. Those friends you made will always be yours. I can relate with the being a little scared leaving your support system. I had only a 5 1/2 week hospital stay, but even then, I was worried about leaving. Torie surely has a lot of good medical support with Grandma & Papa Tom. You'll all do great.
Congratulations ... to you all! What a marvelous work you've done in little Miss Torie's behalf. You'll be blessed forever. And ... Torie will continue to bless lives!

  2. " Of All the joy I've ever known, the most was felt when going Home." We have been thinking about where your little caravan was during the day. Fort Collins tomorrow?! One thought about you wonderful care givers/ grandma and great grandma and grandpa.... "Hands that help are holier than lips that pray". Not only have the Heavens hear your ( our ) prayers, but the Heavens know how much you have all done for one precious angel. We will look forward to hearing that you have arrived at Fruta, COLORADO. 4. Glad to hear that your first day on the road was good, and you finally got out of the State of MN. Let me tell you it was hot hear. We did not get the bad weather like parts of MN did so we are thankful for that. Hope that your trip home is uneventful. Miss you all at the house. Keeping you all in our prayers. Lots of hugs and kisses going your way!!

  5. Again-ditto to all the comments above! Good to hear that the 1st day went well-only one meltdown. Have another good day on your way to Ft. Collins and Uncle Shaun. What a moment it will be when you get to see the Rocky Mountains again. Tomorrow you just have to go over that little(?)hill and you'll be home!

    Love & Hugs!
