Torie's doing really well...no fevers for 48 hours, WBC's 1.3, ANC 896, and no throwing up. Her rash is gone and her weight is coming down slowly thanks to diuretics. We are crossing our fingers for discharge on Thursday! The only hurdle is oral medicine. It has been a battle! Torie is just as strong-willed as Papa Great. She has decided she isn't going to take medicine. And when we try to force it (which is always) she won't talk to us afterwards! The doctors felt the time had come to try a NasoGastric (NG) tube. It goes through her nose, down the esophagus, and sits in the stomach. She took it like a trooper, and it doesn't seem to be bothering her. And medicine time is SO much easier. Hooray! We are on our way! And we are crossing our fingers that tomorrow is hall-and-wagon day...as long as her ANC is over 500. Today marks 5 weeks since she was admitted and we can't wait to get her back to the House! Now only 75 days till the magic 100 mark so we can maybe head home to Colorado! We miss everyone tons, but we couldn't have made it this far without your support. Please keep up the good work for Torie and Josiah, and for Wyatt too..he's doing great after his spinal fusion and back at RMH tonight. Gracie and her family will be here Friday and we're looking forward to meeting more of our big Hurler family!
Grow cells, grow! Vic-Torie!
Love, love, love all the good news. Whoohoo, Torie! Way to grow those cells and swallow that tube. You'll be struttin' your stuff back at the RMH before you know it. I'm holding onto hope you will be there before Gracie gets there. Tell them hi from me. :)

ReplyDeleteYeah Miss Torie! I can't wait till you are next door again. We can play in the hall and if you can't sleep just knock on the wall. Athough I might be sleeping. Keep up the eating and getting stronger... we miss you beautiful girl. Still praying for your big recovery
