T+142 Catching Up

Torie's potassium level has been low, so she was started on some replacements through her tube. Unfortunately, Thursday night her G-Tube got plugged from it. So yesterday morning we were at Dr. Breaux's office bright and early. He is our Pediatric surgeon here in Grand Junction. He pulled Torie's G-Tube, and slid a new one in. It is a better fit and Torie didn't mind it at all. Lexie and Mom were pretty nervous about replacing it, but Dr. Breaux has probably done about a gazillion of them. We headed up to Peds for her blood draw and got to see more of our friends. It's so nice to be back with them! Her potassium is up to 3.6 from 2.5 the other day, so we are going to hold her potassium and see what it is on Monday. Last week when she was low in Minneapolis, Dr. Orchard felt it was from starting Reglan. We stopped giving Reglan on Monday, so hopefully that is what was causing it to be low. Her liver enzymes on Monday were pretty high, so we've been holding VFend and giving Nystatin until they come down. Yesterday they were about half what they were on Monday, so maybe by next week they'll be down in normal range. Then we'll restart VFend, and I'm sure they'll bounce right back up. Her liver just isn't very fond of that medicine! Neither is my checkbook...$1700.00 a month. Jeez!

Lexie and Scott are still hard at work on their house, and maybe it will be ready for Torie soon. I'm so proud of Lexie. She has jumped right in to all of Torie's cares, and she is doing such a great job. Tom and I are going down to Ouray for a few days with the RV. I'm going to miss Torie tons. I've been with her every day for the last 6 months; I won't know what to do for 4 days!

Our best twin-triplet Sweet Si is doing great! He is almost off of his CSA, and he only has to take 3 medicines twice a day. We are so hoping to see him and the rest of the Carman gang in August when we go back for Torie and Josiah's 6-month Un-Birthday. Our dear friends Liam and Diedre are leaving Ronald McDonald House today to go home to Montana. Liam is now on his maintenance chemo and is doing awesome. We are praying and sending happy thoughts for safe travels for them. Our friend Joseph had to go back in the hospital last night. Hopefully it will only be for a couple of days, and at least he is there with Dr. Orchard. Danny continues to fight everything that is going on with him, and so do Cyndi and Duane. Please keep sending him, and the rest of our friends, as many extra prayers as you can. All of our friends are so special to us and we miss them all! And Thanks to all of you for keeping Torie in your hearts...it's working!
