Here are some of our gains and losses over the last few days...
Torie gained platelets! Her count today was double last weeks count - 108. WBC's are up to 3.9, and her hemoglobin is stable at 10.1. Her chemistry's are all still in normal range. She is also starting to eat more. Her losses are all good ones. Yesterday was her last CSA (GenGraf, the immunosuppresant) dose. She has shown no signs of GVHD (Graft VS. Host Disease) through her wean. She is also off Labetolol and Ursodiol, although that may have to restart if her liver enzymes go up because of VFend. And her Amlodipine is down to 3mg twice a day. Hooray!
I gained a new speed record for making it down the spiral staircase. I also gained a "big BandAid and the cruntchers," as Torie calls them, and some really colorful bruises. Unfortunately, I lost most of the use of my left knee somewhere mid-flight.
Mom has gained a lot more chores in the meantime, and she has lost more sleep worrying about me as well as Torie. She also gained another anniversary...46 years yesterday, but she has lost most of this year with my dad. Does that mean they've only been married for 45 years?
We've had many losses lately - Grammy Bonnie, and Babies Bella and Elle, who lost their battles with EB within a month of each other, and it's been 4 months since Cowboy DaNNY left. But we've gained new perspective on so many things, especially friendship and support. Baby Sydney is +250 days today, and she is doing well. So are many of our other friends that we've met along this journey. Please send some extra prayers to Wyatt - he's back in the hospital with fevers and infections. We are thankful for your prayers and love as we gain Vic-Torie!

Cathy-my sweet, dear big sis. Happy anniversary - hopefully you'll be able to celebrate with your hubby soon. Take care of yourself too while doing so much for Torie and now Cheryl.

We love you and miss you!
Glad to see hematology numbers improving and that Torie's now off CSA. I love these steps forward. You keep those baby steps going forward little Torie-nado! Keep eating good and work hard on your PT and Speech Therapy.
ReplyDeleteHey Torie, does Mama Grand look funny hobbling around on her crunchers? I'll bet she does. Her Band Aid looks bigger than you. Do you help Mama Grand up the stairs to go night?
It's trying to snow here now but it's mostly a little rain. Maybe we will have snow when you all get back home. Soon hopefully!
Good thoughts and happy thoughts always coming your way and prayers too. Me and Papa Great miss you and the Grands a lot. We were talking about you all just a little while ago.
Vic-Torie! Grand Kid, Vic-Torie!
