The big BINGO though is Torie's labs yesterday. Her Albumin is up to 2.7, Total Protein is 6.0, Calcium is 8.6. Hematology labs are almost all normal...hemoglobin is 12.9, hematocrit is 39.0, and RBC's are normal at 3.93 for the first time since January. Her platelets are still low at 107, but that's better than 80's! Urine Protein was negative! Dr. Chavers, the Nephrologist, wants negatives 3 days in a row, then we can go to Prednisolone 24mg every other day for 8 weeks. Right now Torie is on 15mg twice a day. And is she ever feeling it. Besides "Roid Rage", she is having mood swings and she'll just sit and cry when she's not yelling "NO" to everything. She's having a hard time sleeping, too. We hate steroids! Send your prayers and happy thoughts that today and tomorrow's urines are negative so that we can cut back her dose on Monday and have our sweet Vic-Torie!
Hurray for hematology values! Steps forward. Happy thoughts heading your way for continued negative urine proteins and happy, happy thoughts that 'roid rage' will subside with decreased steroids.

princess torie...i know how you feel..i hate taking predisone too .. makes you feel awful ... and to be 3 must even be worst..hopfully it can be decreased soon..love that you are learning bingo...everyone needs to find fun/laughter where ever possible..sending warm & positive thoughts your way .... plus a lot of patience...kati

ReplyDeleteYesterday Santa Claus came to our hospital to visit the kids. Everyone was so excited! He asked about you, and we told him that you are in Minnesota. He knows exactly where the Ronald McDonald house is,there,in Minneapolis, but he said that he is hoping that you are home in Grand Junction by the time Christmas gets here. But he said that he would find you wherever you are on Christmas! We are hoping that you will be home soon ,also. Stay strong and keep on playing Bingo!!! Give your Grammas each a hug from me. We got a lovely little gift in the mail the other day. What a wonderful surprise. Rylie loves that we are each a snowperson. It is hanging on our small tree, and we will think of Vic-Torie every time we get it out year after year.
