It's cold! The storm that came on Saturday was the 5th biggest snowfall on record - 17.2 inches. The winds that followed it, 30 to 40 mph, caused a lot of drifting. Last night got down to -13, and the high today was 6. We didn't expect this weather when we got here in August! Some of the drifts were up to the top of my tires, but thanks to Todd, Wyatt's daddy, I got dug out enough yesterday that I was able to get out after a bobcat came in to move the rest of the snow from the parking lot. It's a good thing, too. We had to go to "Super Grover Target" as Torie calls it, for milk and spinach. We had to cancel OT and Speech, but we made it to Clinic.
Torie's urine is still negative for protein, and her serum Albumin is up to 3.7 and Total Protein is up to 6.4 - she's getting close to normal again. Now if she (and therefore, we) could just get some sleep. It's catching up with her. Today she has just been so tired, but she can't sleep for more than an hour or so. When she wakes up, she yells until we feed her. Her weight is up. She's already gained about 5 pounds since starting steroids. Ugh. But so far she's still moving, so that's better than last time.
We got a package in the mail from our Tennessee family, The Carman's, today. Torie was so excited to see a picture of Josiah, James, Sara,
Hannah, and Leah. She took the picture out of the box, said "Awwww" and hugged it. She also got an Abby Cadabby potty book from Rylie the other day...perfect timing. We are getting to spend lots of time with Wyatt, Nicole, and Todd, and they will be here until after Christmas. And we are looking forward to meeting Ethan and his family who will be here soon. Just one more Silver Lining? We are part of this wonderful Hurler's Family.
We still appreciated and value your friendship, love, and prayers. Please send a few of those to my Aunt Collette and her family. My Uncle Dick is in the hospital, and we know what a difference your happy thoughts and prayers make. With them, we are getting closer to Vic-Torie!
So glad to hear that you are feeling better. We will pray you get some sleep and can get completely back to normal. We are also praying for you Uncle Dick and Aunt Collette. So sorry he is in the hospital. I think you sent all the snow and weather our way.. coldest Dec in TN since 1946.. 6degrees Monday night... yikes. Hope ya'll are staying warm. Give big hugs to your grandma's. Thank you for the beautiful necklaces you made for us... we love them. Mommy took a picture of me kissing mine. I 'll have her post it soon.

ReplyDeleteWow, that's a lot of snow! Minneapolis has pretty much dominated The Weather Channel for the past week. Stay warm! I got cold just looking at the pictures. I'm very glad and thankful that Torie's numbers are getting close to normal. I hope you all can get some good sleep soon.
